Episode 2: The Gundam Deathscythe

At the private school that Relena attends, Heero begins a fencing match with one of Relena's admirers who is steamed about the way Heero treated Relena. He defeats the boy, much to the surpirse of all onlookers. Later, when he's supposed to be at riding lessons, Heero hacks into the school's computer systems and clears all his financial debts, then proceeding to hack into the system of a nearby weapons storage facility, with the intention of stealing the explosives necessary for destroying his gundam.

Meanwhile, Zechs joins the Alliance's search for the sunken gundam, offering the use of OZ's newest underwater mobile suits. When the mobile suits find the sunken gundam, the self-detonation alarm goes off. Suddenly, a flash of light blinds the pilots, and the force is completely destroyed by an unseen enemy. The enemy is the Gundam Deathscythe, piloted by Duo Maxwell, the God of Death. Duo decides to take the other gundam as his "backup supply".

The other three gundam pilots find various hideouts- Quatre takes refuge with the Maganac Corps of the Middle East; Trowa joins a travelling circus as a clown and acrobat; Wufei hides his gundam in a lake and purchases a large amount of explosives.

Relena leaves the school for home to prepare for her birthday party. Her father is unable to stay for the party, and Relena sees some pictures he has of Heero's gundam entering the atmosphere. At that time, a news broadcast on the radio announces the Alliance's press release that the five "shooting stars" burnt up in the atmosphere and were not manned spacecraft. Relena realizes that it's all a big cover up, and that Heero is on a secret mission. Meanwhile, the same boy who earlier fenced Heero sees the gundam pilot speeding toward the marina in an ambulance, and when he reports this to Relena, the birthday girl runs out of her party to follow Heero.

As Relena is speeding towards the marina in her pink limousine, musing over the fact that Heero said he would kill her because she knew his secret, Heero is breaking in the weapons warehouse, stealing three torpedos. Relena catches up to him just as he's about to lauch the torpedos at his gundam, and demands that he tell her who he really is.

Heero turns a gun on Relena, but before he can pull the trigger, someone fires at him and hits him in the arm. It's Duo. When Heero goes for his gun, Duo shoots him again, hitting him in the leg this time. Relena blocks Heero and binds his wounds, while Duo, confused, looks on. Just then, the Wing and Deathscythe reach the surface. Heero jumps up onto the torpedos, amid a barrage of bullets from Duo, and launches at both gundams. He jumps off just in the nick of time, and plunges into the sea, unconscious. Duo watches, horrified, as both his and Heero's gundams are hit and sink below the ocean again. Duo realizes that Heero must be the pilot of the other gundam, since he knew what it would take to destroy it.
